PLANT A TREE – THE PLANET WILL APPRECIATE IT.
The statistics are alarming: Each year more than 15 million hectares of
primary forest disappear, 80 percent of all the primary forest on Earth has already vanished and 137 species of wildlife disappear daily due to tropical deforestation.
By participating in our Plant a Tree project, you and our gardening staff will plant a tree of a species endemic to the region, in a specific MINAE- (the Costa Rican Ministry of Environment and Energy) designated location in the vicinity of the Harmony Hotel. In this small way, you’ll not only directly contribute to slowing this deadly trend, but will help maintain the delicate biological balance of the area. The Harmony, in turn, is committed to caring for these trees and ongoing reforestation efforts.
One More Reason to Contribute: CARBON DIOXIDE
The emissions of just one round trip New York – Paris flight are equivalent to one ton of carbon dioxide per passenger! Air transportation has a 10% yearly increase and by 2015 the damage caused to the ozone layer will be vast and irreversible. Air travel
will be responsible for 15% of climatic unbalance by 2050. The Harmony Hotel is looking to counteract this effect by planting trees, natural purifiers of the air we breathe.
