Here is a fun little conversation we recorded with our friend and frequent Harmony guest Hernán Jiménez. Born and raised in San José, Costa Rica, he is a screenwriter, director and stand-up comedian, and has written and directed numerous short and feature films. His film "Entonces Nosotros" was Costa Rica's official submission for Best International Film at the 89th Academy Awards. He has written and performed five hit stand-up comedy specials, and is currently performing his new monologue Gato por Liebre to sold out audiences in Costa Rica through mid February.
Hernán was recently in residence at Harmony to work on his writing projects, and to screen his movies “Elsewhere” and “Entonces Nosotros” for the Nosara community. We took the opportunity to put him on the other side of the camera so he could share a little more about his creative process, the influence of Costa Rica on his work, and some advice he has for aspiring filmmakers.
